I grew up in the vibrant immigrant city of Chelsea, Massachusetts, where humor, humility, and hard work were daily lessons from my parents - Saul, a celebrated athlete and educator, and Gladys, a lifelong reader and community leader. Their example ignited my commitment to “do the right thing.”
Dedicated to Service
From the bench I witnessed how childhood adversity predicts adult disease, mental illness, substance use, and generational trauma. As Chief Justice I convened multidisciplinary partners, built national models, and proved that prevention and early intervention transform lives.
Together we can AND MUST do better.
